Who We Are: RTLRED
“Ladies, gentlemen, and anyone currently picking plastic BBs out of their tactical gear: welcome.
We are RTLRED, Yorkshire’s premier airsoft team. We’re based right here in God’s Own Country, which means we’re fueled entirely by Yorkshire tea, a stubborn refusal to admit we’re lost in the woods, and an absolute love for the game.
Now, if you ask a serious milsim team what they do, they’ll tell you about ‘tactical flanking manoeuvres,’ ‘room clearing,’ and ‘advanced communication.’ If you ask us what we do, the answer is simple: we run around the woods, try not to trip over tree roots, and laugh like absolute maniacs.
The Real Truth About Our Tactics
Don’t get me wrong—we love the sport. There is nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of a well-executed push or holding down a bunker against overwhelming odds. But let’s be completely honest about our team dynamic:
The Enemy: We love shooting them.
Each Other: Honestly? We love shooting each other just a little bit more.
If you join RTLRED, you aren’t just getting teammates; you’re getting a dedicated group of friends who will look you dead in the eye, promise they have your six, and then accidentally—or entirely on purpose—pellet you right in the backside because they ‘thought you were a bush.’
We operate on a very strict rule of engagement: if it moves, shoot it. If it doesn’t move, shoot it anyway just to make sure it isn’t camping. And if it’s wearing the same RTLRED patch as you… well, consider it a ‘spontaneous wellness check’ to ensure your body armour is working.
It’s All For the Banter
At the end of the day, the bruises fade, the BBs get swept up, and the gear goes back in the shed. What’s left is the banter. For us, a successful Weekend isn’t measured by how many objectives we took; it’s measured by how much our ribs ache from laughing in the safe zone.
We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take our fun very seriously. We’re RTLRED. We’ve got the gear, we’ve got the guns, and we have absolutely no idea what we’re doing—but we’re going to look brilliant doing it.
See you out on the field. Watch your fronts, watch your flanks, and most importantly… watch out for your own teammates.”
